Thank You!

13th July 2020

The final bulletin of the academic year is all about Thank Yous. It is often said that we are living in extraordinary times, which slightly stretches the definition of extraordinary… however; these last 6 months have been like nothing we have seen before in education. The challenges we have faced and, at times, the negativity we have faced, have been significant. Yet, we have risen to these difficulties and focused on delivering the best for the children in our care.

ThankYouI have been humbled by the professionalism, dedication and drive colleagues have shown during this time. We have taken steps none of us expected to make, and prepared for a September journey, which is still unknown. In truth, these plaudits are for everyone in our trust communities. School business managers, teachers, site staff, office leads, out of class staff, caterers, governors, TAs, trustees and of course, headteachers. Schools are always a team effort – but never more so than in the grips of a pandemic.

I would also like to draw public attention and praise to our central trust team. Alongside you, they have put in the extra hours, read reams of documentation, navigated the legislation, advice and guidance and pulled together a support package, which I know schools have found supportive, beneficial and vital. Thank you to everyone.

I wish you a restful few weeks, when they come. Children and staff alike are crying out for a break and a chance to replenish the batteries. Holidays do not take a homogenous form for all, but in whatever way, and whenever your ‘break starts’ – have a restful time with loved ones and be assured of our thanks.
